Kim Cook

KM Cookie has embraced adversity, from a turbulent childhood and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis to a first marriage with a talented Caribbean musician. As a rebellious rule follower, living between cultures, she sponsored his children to immigrate to the U.S. while immersing herself in the music she loved. Her passion for words, multicultural connection, and personal transformation weaves through her fiction, facilitating empowerment workshops, and mentoring adults.

 

She holds a UCLA Creative Writing Certificate and a master’s degree in Writing, Leadership & Business, with publications in Creative Nursing and Career Education Review. As a True Colors communication facilitator and growth mindset expert, she’s spoken at Next/Now, ABHES, and CSPEN conferences.

 

When not writing or facilitating workshops, KM enjoys time with her husband, yoga practice, and daily walks with her beloved rescue pit bull. Whether in storytelling, coaching, or leadership development, she is driven by a single guiding question: “Are you creating?”
